Traditions of Israelite
Descent in England.

Another remarkable link might be found in that quite a bit of land was occupied
by those with the surname Perrett and other variations of that spelling in an
around the Somerset area. This is verified by land records recorded in the
Domesday book of 1089.
There are townships or counties known then as Sudperet and Nordperet, indicating
a southern area and northern areas with peoples of that name.
Even the river that divided north from south was called the Parrett river.
If one does a heraldry search for those surnames, the coat of arms typcially
show the rampant lions as the main symbols. Some of these same lion symbols have
also shown up as belonging to Spanish surnames under a Sephardic geneaology
website.
According to the Hebrew spelling of the Christianized form of "Phares", it
indicates it is spelled as "Peretz". Awfully close to the various surnames of
Perrett it seems.
This then would also indicate that many of the Peretz bloodline of Judah were in
the British Isles along with other various descendants of Israel.
Blessings, MB
