Psalm One Hundred and Nineteen (14) Nun
NUN
Psalms 119-Nun (14)
NUN
This section of eight verses has in the Hebrew original the first letter of the first word in each verse beginning with the letter "Nun". "Nun" is the equivalent of the English "En".  Nun has the numerical value of ninety. There could somehow be some kind of connection between the word "nun" representing "ninety" and the English word "nine".
Nun in Hebrew connotes shining (as the sun shines) and greatness. In Aramaic a related word "nuna" means "fish" and suggests "great increase" just like fish have many eggs and under certain conditions can increase quickly and greatly. There is a parallel in Hebrew where we have the word "dag" meaning "fish" and "yidag" implying increase like fish.
Jacob blessed Ephraim and Manasseh saying:
[Genesis 48:16] THE ANGEL WHICH REDEEMED ME FROM ALL EVIL, BLESS THE LADS; AND LET MY NAME BE NAMED ON THEM, AND THE NAME OF MY FATHERS ABRAHAM AND ISAAC; AND LET THEM GROW INTO A MULTITUDE IN THE MIDST OF THE EARTH.
The expression translated as ##LET THEM GROW INTO A MULTITUDE## in Hebrew is "Yigdu" from the word-root "dag" meaning "fish". Literally the expression could be translated as saying "may they increase like fish".

[Psalms 119:105] THY WORD IS A LAMP UNTO MY FEET, AND A LIGHT UNTO MY PATH.
The word of scripture should be considered a guiding light to help us through the darkness.

[Psalms 119:106] I HAVE SWORN, AND I WILL PERFORM IT, THAT I WILL KEEP THY RIGHTEOUS JUDGMENTS.
I have taken and oath and promised to keep the laws and injunctions of the Bible.

[Psalms 119:107] I AM AFFLICTED VERY MUCH: QUICKEN ME, O LORD, ACCORDING UNTO THY  WORD.
He is oppressed. In Hebrew "ne-anati" connoting beset with many problems and challenges.
QUICKEN ME. In Hebrew "Chayani" grant me vitality and vigor.
He asks God to give him Life and liveliness in order to overcomes his problems.

[Psalms 119:108] ACCEPT, I BESEECH THEE, THE FREEWILL OFFERINGS OF MY MOUTH, O LORD,  AND TEACH ME THY JUDGMENTS.
Please God accept my promises and prayers and help me learn what is the right path and how YOU want me to act.

[Psalms 119:109] MY SOUL IS CONTINUALLY IN MY HAND: YET DO I NOT FORGET THY LAW.
He is prepared to give up his life at any moment for your sake.
This verse may also be interpreted as saying.
#I am always prepared to give up my life at a moment's notice and by virtue of this self-sacrificing attitude of mine I do not forget the Bible teachings I have received.

[Psalms 119:110] THE WICKED HAVE LAID A SNARE FOR ME: YET I ERRED NOT FROM THY PRECEPTS.
The expression translated as "YET" in "ve" but it could also be understood to mean "which help me against".
This verse may be understood as suggesting that he has succeeded in avoiding the pitfalls and obstacles that have been placed in my path BECAUSE he has not erred from the precepts.

[Psalms 119:111] THY TESTIMONIES HAVE I TAKEN AS AN HERITAGE FOR EVER: FOR THEY ARE THE REJOICING OF MY HEART.
Just as a person would be happy to enjoy property he had inherited from his ancestors so too is he happy in learning the Bible. The Bible in an inheritance for Israelites. We should treasure it. It can help us through life, protect us from adversity and misfortune, and also give us a much better life than we otherwise probably would have.

[Psalms 119:112] I HAVE INCLINED MINE HEART TO PERFORM THY STATUTES ALWAY, EVEN UNTO THE END.
#I HAVE INCLINED#. Hebrew "natiti" meaning "inclined" or "predisposed". Everyone is prejudiced
to some degree. Everyone has preferences. We should recognize this and make our own preferences the doing of the will of God and obeying the Bible.
