Psalm 131
A SONG OF DEGREES, OF DAVID.
This is the 12th of the Psalms entitled "A SONG OF DEGREES".
[Psalms 131:1] LORD, MY HEART IS NOT HAUGHTY, NOR MINE EYES LOFTY: NEITHER DO I EXERCISE  MYSELF IN GREAT MATTERS, OR IN THINGS TOO HIGH FOR ME.
HAUGHTY. Hebrew "govah" meaning "high", "exalted". I do not imagine myself to be other than what I am.
LOFTY. Hebrew "ram". High up. I do not look beyond or over others.  I see things as they are and am aware of my imperfections and limitations.
There are some things one should leave alone.
God created you for a reason. He wants you to know that HE exists.

[Psalms 131:2] SURELY I HAVE BEHAVED AND QUIETED MYSELF, AS A CHILD THAT IS WEANED OF  HIS MOTHER: MY SOUL IS EVEN AS A WEANED CHILD.
I HAVE BEHAVED. Hebrew "shaviti" i.e. set myself in place.
AND QUIETED MYSELF. Hebrew "domamti" i.e. made myself "dumb" and silent. I have quieted myself down.
I am like a baby who after sucking the breast of his mother is content.
Alternately I am like a yound child who has been weaned and can now sit on the lap of his mother and not want to suckle her milk.
I accept the will of the Almighty.
MY SOUL. Hebrew "nafshi" which also refers to my mind and intellectual endeavoring.

[Psalms 131:3] LET ISRAEL HOPE IN THE LORD FROM HENCEFORTH AND FOR EVER.
Israel must always hope for guidance from Above
