Psalm 149
Praise to the ALMIGHTY for Being the God of Israel

[Psalm 149: 1] Praise the LORD! [ Haleluyah!]
 Sing to the LORD a new song,
And His praise in the assembly of saints.

Saints. In Hebrew "Chasidim" or "Hasidim" meaning literally "Doers of Loving Kindness".  This refers to they who do good deeds beyond that which deed or social expectations require.
The Jewish "Hasidic" Movement derives its name from the same source.
Historically the Hasidic Movement emphasized emotional involvement and communal togetherness rather than strict interpretation of the Law.  They never however rejected the Law but rather emphasized emotion as a means to give it vitality.

[Psalm 149: 2]  Let Israel rejoice in their Maker;
Let the children of Zion be joyful in their King.

This is the point. The Maker of the Universe is the God of Israel who HIMSELF wished to make HIMSELF known to humanity through Zion and Jerusalem.
The God of the Universe is the God of Israel.
There is no other.
Only through Zion and Jerusalem may the Almighty be approached.

[Psalm 149: 3]  Let them praise His name with the dance;
 Let them sing praises to Him with the timbrel and harp.

[Psalm 149: 4]  For the LORD takes pleasure in His people;
He will beautify the humble with salvation.

God believes in the Children of Israel. Let us have faith in HIM!
We all need humility.

 [Psalm 149: 5]  Let the saints be joyful in glory;
Let them sing aloud on their beds.

on their beds. They can sleep in peace.  They conduct their family-life with honor and self-respect and their families show it.

 [Psalm 149: 6]  Let the high praises of God be in their mouth,
And a two-edged sword in their hand,

Obeying the Almighty gives us a glory and the ability to ward off evil and the intentions of evil-doers. This is as if we had a potent weapon in our hands and were ever ready to use it.

[Psalm 149: 7]  To execute vengeance on the nations,
 And punishments on the peoples;

They who hate Israel and persecute the Jews will be punished. Opponents to the State of Israel are to be condemned.

 [Psalm 149: 8]  To bind their kings with chains,
 And their nobles with fetters of iron;

What was done to Sadam Hussein needs to be done Achamed-what-is-his-name from Iran and all the others!

 [Psalm 149: 9]  To execute on them the written judgment
This honor have all His saints.
Praise the LORD! [ Haleluyah!]
